Psychic Feline Tonight!

Cairo's unofficial "Portland Weekend" continues tonight, with performances by Oregonian rockers Psychic Feline and Nucular Aminals. Locals M. Women are opening and I understand they'll be debuting some new songs. I also know that Peter Lowe's been busy all day in the silkscreen studio prepping new Pyschic Feline swag for the show. It's gonna be awesome, and over in time for other shows/other parties/Pride Weekend shenanigans. All-ages are, as always, welcome.

Set times:

8:00 - M. Women

9:00 - Nucular Aminals

10:00 - Psychic Feline

The phenomenal poster was designed by Merlin Mannelly, who, I'm sad to say, is about to join the Seattle-to-NY expat club. He'll be missed! Click for the high-res (you won't regret it).

Cairo Digital Mixtape #03: Go Easy With Me

Matt Lawson of Secret Colors, Stephanie, and recent Cairo photoshoot fame is responsible for the latest entry in our popular digital mixtape series. His is maybe the best mix yet, with a really eclectic selection of awesome tunes (Swirlies!). He also included what is maybe the best song from that hot new Gang Gang Dance Record.

You can download "Go Easy With Me" here via mediafire (until we figure out something a little more elegant).

Brilliant Colors, Gun Outfit, and M. Women tomorrow night!

Despite the lack of a show tonight, Cairo's still committed to making your weekend more awesome. Saturday night, San Francisco trio Brilliant Colors will be swinging by for a set of their fizzy, Euro-styled garage pop. Tomorrow also heralds the triumphant return of Olympia band Gun Outfit, and local favorites M. Women will also be performing. Obviously, it is going to rule. Doors are at 8 PM, admission is the usual $5.

Fun fact: Brilliant Colors' catchy tune "Absolutely Anything" is about "vaginal imagery in art." Go figure.
